The Big Give

The Big Give

The Community Foundation of St. Clair County is sponsoring a 24-hour fund raiser called the Big Give on June 9, 2021 for St. Clair County non-profits.

In 2018, the United States Region of the Sisters of Mary Reparatrix initiated an endowment fund, the Bioregion Reparation Fund, through the Foundation, to assure that the legacy of Full Circle EcoHouse of Prayer in Port Huron, Michigan would continue after our sisters are no longer there.

The ministry of Full Circle is to raise consciousness about the state of the environment and to invite others to embrace a lifestyle and spirituality that would help sustain planetary life. Watersheds are one aspect of Earth’s community of life. Port Huron and its surroundings are within the Lake Huron, St. Clair River and Black River watersheds. The Bioregion Reparation Fund seeks to help restore and sustain these watersheds by awarding grants for environmental education, restorative and spiritual programs, projects and services.

St. Clair River and Lake Huron

You can go to the Big Give home page, and after selecting the "Bioregion Reparation Fund,“ click on the "Donate Now" button. Although the Big Give features nonprofits based in St. Clair County, residents from any location who have Internet access can donate online. Donations of $10 or more are very welcome. They must be made between midnight Tuesday, June 8 and 11:59 PM on Wednesday, June 9. Every dollar will be used to sustain and restore the Lake Huron, St. Clair and Black River watersheds.

Climate Change is putting all Earth’s ecosystems and their inhabitants in danger. This is one way to help heal the wounds we humans have done to the Earth Community and to the Blue Water of Michigan in particular.
