Some 2023 Events
As December 25th approaches we wish all our readers the blessings of peace and hope during this holy season and throughout the days of 2024. Amid so much violence and conflict in our world, we pray that peace and love may prevail.
As Christians, we believe that Christ came as Emmanuel – God-with-us! This is a gift to receive and a mystery to ponder. God doesn’t promise that our lives will be free of struggle, challenges, or difficulties – however, God does pledge to be with us no matter what the circumstances.
During this past year, two of our sisters, Mary Joan Schimian and Noemi Valdes, completed their respective journeys on earth. Mary Joan was a native of Cincinnati while Noemi was born in Cuba and came to the United States as a young woman and came to know our community through our Manhattan, New York Retreat House. Both women served many years in our retreat centers in New York, Ohio, and Michigan as well as several other pastoral settings.
Another significant event of this year was a meeting in Rome of the leadership sisters from the different geographic areas of our congregation. Our Leadership Team of Sister Veronica Blake and Sister Ann Kasparek were among the participants. It is encouraging to witness the enthusiasm of the women in the congregation to continue our mission of manifesting God’s love wherever we are. At the same time, we are aware of the many elderly and infirm sisters who remain steadfast to live their commitment to Reparation. This meeting was preparatory for the General Chapter of our Congregation which will be scheduled in 2025.
Blessings of deep peace, love, and hope to each and all of our readers!
