Weaving Our SMR Future Together in Today's World*

September 26-30, 2016, Riverview, Michigan, U.S.A.

This “Gem” page is usually devoted to sharing about each of our Community settings as wonderful Moments in Time in our SMR United States history.

However, we have had other moments in time which stood out as moments of bringing many of our international sisters together here in the United States to pray, share and get to know each other.

Weaving 2

One of these moments will happen September 26-30, 2016 in our Riverview locations. Sisters from all generations across the SMR congregation have been invited to join the USA sisters to pray, listen, share and enjoy the presence of each other during these September days.

The two speakers are Sr. Mary Hughes, OP, LCWR Transitional Services Director who will lead the group in looking at future planning in our diminishing/changing reality in religious life.  Sr. Sandra Schneiders,  IHM, a noted theologian, will share her thoughts and reflections on the vow of poverty.

There will also be time to build relationships among the sisters and to integrate what has been learned during this time together and sharing it with others.

These events of coming together and exchanging with each other help to continue to forge ties of friendship, bring a greater sense of community and a better understanding of each one’s reality as we look to the future together with hope and courage.
